CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Desmond Holloway scored 18 points and Coastal Carolina used a second-half run to pull away from USC Upstate 71-50 at the Charleston Classic on Friday.

USC Upstate had cut a 15-point lead down to 44-40 with just under 12 minutes left. That's when Holloway and the Chanticleers (3-2) took control with an 18-2 run.

Holloway made the first three baskets during the charge as Coastal Carolina moved in front 62-42.

Kierre Greenwood had 12 points and Willie Kirkland and Anthony Raffa had 10 each for the Chanticleers, who will play Sunday for fifth place in the eight-team tournament.

Torrey Craig had 17 points on five 3-pointers to lead the Spartans (0-4), who moved into the seventh-place game.
