COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina State's league opener is perhaps its biggest Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game of the year.
The Bulldogs take on Florida A&M on Saturday, a showdown between the teams picked to finish first and second in the MEAC.
South Carolina State has won the past two conference crowns and is a heavy favorite for a third. The Bulldogs also have a 19-game MEAC winning streak.
In other games involving the state's Football Championship Subdivision teams, Wofford opens Southern Conference play hosting Furman; The Citadel hosts Western Carolina; Presbyterian opens Big South Conference play at VMI; and Coastal Carolina heads to Richmond.
