COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier says his staff is considering redshirting linebacker Shaq Wilson because of a pulled hamstring that could keep him out all season.
Wilson had a team-high 85 tackles in 2009. He missed last week's season opener against Southern Miss and has been ruled out for Southeastern Conference opener against Georgia.
Senior Tony Straughter took Wilson's spot against Southern Miss.
Wilson is a junior linebacker who practiced just once this summer before getting hurt. Linebacker Antonio Allen also missed South Caroilna's first game with an injury, although he is expected back for the Georgia game.
Spurrier said receiver Dion LeCorn has been moved to linebacker to provide some depth.
