COLUMBIA -- Two-time NL MVP Dale Murphy visited the WACH-FOX studios Tuesday.  Murphy will throw out the first pitch at Thursday’s Columbia Blowfish season opener at Capital City Stadium.

“We’ll be signing some autographs and reconnecting with longtime Braves fans,” says Murphy who played for Atlanta from 1978 to 1990.

Murphy also plans to raise money for the Palmetto Health Foundation while he’s in town.  Murphy's #3 jersey will be auctioned off with proceeds benefiting the foundation.

Murphy, who retired from baseball in 1993, says players who use steroids and performance enhancing drugs in the sport are setting a “terrible example for kids.”

First pitch for the Blowfish is at 7:05.
