CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Former champion Nadia Petrova (NAH'-dee-uh peh-TROH'-vah) and two-time finalist Patty Schnyder (SHNEE'-dur) will play in the 2010 Family Circle Cup tennis tournament in Charleston.
Tournament organizers said Monday that No. 16 Petrova and No. 48 Schnyder will join last year's winner Sabine Lisicki, top-ranked Serena Williams and other top-20 players in the field for the clay-court event. It's set for April 10-18 at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Daniel Island.
Petrova won the tournament in 2006 and won the doubles last year with partner Bethanie Mattek-Sands. This will be Schnyder's 14th consecutive appearance at the event, which is second only to Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario's 16.
