COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina coach Darrin Horn was too excited to think clearly about how his team's stunning upset of No. 1 Kentucky would impact his injury-depleted club.

As Horn prepares the Gamecocks for a rematch with the Wildcats at Rupp Arena this week, the coach said Tuesday he was unsure if any one victory, no matter how landmark, could've boosted his team past their struggles with depth and scoring.

South Carolina has gone 2-4 since its 68-62 win over Kentucky on Jan. 26. Leading scorer Devan Downey has dealt with an ankle injury and his scoring pace of better than 30 points a game against Southeastern Conference competition is slowed.

Horn says his players might take some confidence into Thursday night's contest since no other team has beaten the Wildcats.
