CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Sabine Lisicki is returning to the 2010 Family Circle Cup in Charleston to defend her title.

Tournament organizers said Wednesday that the 20-year-old German would join top-ranked Serena Williams, No. 8 Jelena Jankovic (yeh-LAY'-nuh YANK'-oh-vihch), No. 16 Maria Sharapova (shah-rah-POH'-vah) and other top-20 players in the field for the clay-court event scheduled April 10-18 at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Daniel Island.

Lisicki scored the first singles title of her career in the 2009 tournament. At No. 62 in the world, she also became the lowest-ranked player to win the title.

Lisicki finished the 2009 season as the world's No. 25 player.
