Lady Tigers fall to No. 14 North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) -- Italee Lucas scored 20 points to help No. 14 North Carolina beat Clemson 79-61 Friday night.

Cetera DeGraffenreid added 12 points for the Tar Heels (15-3, 3-1 Atlantic Coast Conference), who closed the game on a 23-4 run.

Lele Hardy scored 17 points on 7 of 23 shooting to lead Clemson (9-11, 0-4), which lost to the Tar Heels for the 15th consecutive time.

Clemson led 57-56 with seven minutes remaining in the game, but DeGraffenreid and Lucas scored eight points apiece down the stretch.

The Tar Heels, who led 37-30 at halftime, extended their lead to 50-40 early in the second half. But the Tigers answered with a 12-1 run to go ahead 52-51, taking their first lead since they scored the first basket of the game.
