COLUMBIA - Appalachian State offensive line coach Shawn Elliott was introduced as the new offensive line coach at USC. Elliott replaces Eric Wolford, who accepted the head coaching position at Youngstown State University in December.
Elliott, 36, a Camden native has spent his entire career at Appalachian State, where he helped the Mountaineers to three-straight division I-AA national championships (2005- 2007).
Gamecocks Head Coach Steve Spurrier says he is thrilled to have a Carolina guy joining the coaching staff at South Carolina. Coach Spurrier added,"Elliott has an outstanding record coaching the offensive line and winning championships. He is ready for the next challenge and is excited about coaching in the SEC and in Division I football."
