CHARLESTON (AP) -- The New York Yankees said Wednesday that manager Torre Tyson would return for a fourth season with Class A Charleston RiverDogs.
The Major League champions also announced that pitching coach Jeff Ware would be back. Former big leaguer Carlos Mendoza will serve as the team's first base coach this season.
The RiverDogs compete in the South Atlantic League.
This will be Tyson's sixth season in Charleston. He spent the 2005 and 2006 seasons as the team's hitting coach.
Charleston went 74-65 last year, the team's seventh straight winning season.
Yankees senior vice president for baseball operations Mark Newman thinks Tyson heads an exceptional staff at Charleston.
