BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- Smash or flash? The Connecticut defenders aren't sure what to expect from Steve Spurrier and South Carolina.

The normally pass-oriented Gamecocks enter Saturday's Papajohns.com Bowl after running 58 times in a win over Clemson.

Huskies linebacker Lawrence Wilson says Spurrier is "a week-to-week type guy" and hard to gameplan for. The Gamecocks still rank last in the SEC in rushing and second in passing behind a matured Stephen Garcia and freshman receiver Alshon Jeffery.

The Huskies rank 95th out of 120 FBS teams in pass defense.

UConn has won three straight games behind the rushing attack led by Jordan Todman and Andre Dixon, who have combined for 27 touchdowns and more than 2,100 yards.

Both teams are 7-5.
