WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) — It took just one big game for Wake Forest's Marshall Williams to move to the top of the Atlantic Coast Conference's receiving statistics.
Williams had just six catches for 56 yards in the first two games, then had an 80-yard touchdown catch in an easy win against Elon. But against Boston College, Williams hauled in 12 passes for 180 yards and a score in the 27-24 overtime loss.
That one performance was enough to lift Williams into a tie for the Atlantic Coast Conference lead in receptions while putting him in third in the league in receiving yardage.
Williams said he feels really in synch with quarterback Riley Skinner, which could be key this weekend against North Carolina State's tough defense.
