MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — University of Minnesota football coach Tim Brewster says two players have been suspended for the next two games due to a violation of team rules and policies.

They are starting defensive end Cedric McKinley and backup defensive back Tim Dandridge. The news release does not specify what rule they are accused of violating.

The suspension announced Monday will keep them out of games against Wisconsin and Purdue.

A statement from the university says neither Brewster nor the players would make further comment.

In the first four games this season, McKinley had 11 tackles, including three tackles for losses. He has also recovered a fumble and forced a fumble. Danbridge has one tackle.
