WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (AP) —The NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Watkins Glen Internationnal has been red-flagged on lap 63 after a violent multicar crash involving Jeff Gordon and Sam Hornish Jr.

Andy Lally, Jeff Burton and Joey Logano also got caught up in the wreckage.

Kasey Kahne precipitated the crash in the 90-lap event on Monday when he dove inside of Hornish coming out of turn nine on the 11-curve track and sent Hornish off onto the grass on the left side.

Hornish's No. 77 Dodge caromed off a tire barrier and back onto the track. Gordon's No. 24 slammed into it head-on and spun violently around into an Armco barrier lining the track.

Both Gordon and Hornish climbed from their cars and were uninjured.
