DUBLIN, Ohio (AP) — Mike Weir made a move and Tiger Woods didn't among the early second-round finishers at the Memorial Tournament.

Weir, who shot a 3-under 69 in Thursday's opening round, repeated that score to get to 6-under 138 and two shots behind the early second-round co-leaders, Luke Donald and Mark Wilson.

Woods had made few mistakes from tee to green in shooting a first-round 69, but was unable to build on it. He followed up with a 74 that left him at 1-under 143. He played the four par-3 holes in 3-over on Friday.

Donald needed just 20 putts on Thursday to shoot a 64, the lowest opening round and the fewest putts ever in a competitive round at the Memorial. But he was 1 over through his first three holes to fall into the tie with Wilson, who after a 68 was 3-under through 15 holes in the second round.

Weir was tied with Jonathan Byrd, who was also at 6 under and still on the course. Jim Furyk shot an opening 67 and had yet to tee off. He was joined at 5 under by Ryuji Imada.

Ernie Els, playing in the same threesome with Woods and Zach Johnson, holed a sand shot on his final hole for birdie for his second consecutive 70 to get to 140.
