The wife of NFL star and former Lower Richland standout Richard Seymour was in front of a judge Thursday. Tanya Seymour, 27, faces two two counts of second degree lynching.
When most hear the term lynching frightening images of a much darker time in American history come to mind. But, the legal definition reads "any act of violence inflicted by a mob upon the body of another person."
The charges against Seymour stem from a party at her mother's house on Fontana Drive in the early morning hours of New Year's Day. Tanya Seymour and two other women are accused of beating two people during the party. Seymour's attorney told the court the alleged victims were not wanted at the party and had been asked to leave.
All three of the accused are free on bond.
