(AP) -- Roger Mason is proving to be a very valuable offseason pick-up for the San Antonio Spurs.
The former Washington Wizard made a falling-down corner jumper and a free throw with 10.5 seconds left to give the Spurs a 112-111 win over the L.A. Lakers in a possible preview of the Western Conference finals.
After Mason's three-point play, the Lakers failed to get a shot off when Trevor Ariza was called for traveling in the final seconds.
The Lakers rallied from 11 points behind in the fourth quarter and led when Kobe Bryant hit a three-pointer with 12 seconds left.
Manu Ginobili led San Antonio with 27. Bryant led Los Angeles with 29. The Lakers lost for only the second time in their last 12 games.
