(AP) -- COLUMBIA, S.C.-- Steve Spurrier says his South Carolina team was glad to get out on the practice field and put last weekend's 50-point loss to Florida behind them.

The Gamecocks practiced indoors Tuesday to get out of the cold. They are off this weekend before ending the season at Clemson Nov. 29.

Spurrier also shot down an Internet rumor suggesting he was thinking about retirement. The 63-year-old coach says it appears he has a very good recruiting class coming together and he figures he had four or five more years at South Carolina.

Spurrier refused to name a starting quarterback for the Clemson game, but joked that coaching redshirt freshman Stephen Garcia could send him into retirement early.
