COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- New South Carolina coach Darrin Horn has brought in a guard from Florida and a forward from North Carolina as his first two Gamecock signees.
Horn said Wednesday that Ramon Galloway and forward Lakeem Jackson will join the team in the fall of 2009, giving the Gamecocks much needed help on the perimeter.
Galloway is a 6-foot-2 guard from Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., who averaged 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists a game his junior season at William T. Dwyer High.
Jackson is a 6-foot-5, 215-pound forward from Charlotte, N.C. He averaged 15.8 points and 6.5 rebounds last year for Christ School.
The Gamecocks open the season Friday night at home against Jacksonville State.
