MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Ken Macha gets the job of managing the Milwaukee Brewers. Dale Sveum had the job on an interim basis when Ned Yost was fired with 12 games left in the season.
The Brewers went to their first postseason appearance since 1982. They were eliminated by Philadelphia in the first round of the playoffs.
The 58-year-old Macha won 368 and lost 280 games as manager of the Oakland Athletics. He led the A's to a couple of American League West titles before getting fired two days after his team was swept by Detroit in the 2006 AL championship series.
