COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- University of South Carolina trustees are expected to vote on an amended contract for longtime head baseball coach Ray Tanner.
The university's executive committee planned to discuss his contract during its meeting Friday.
Tanner earns $345,000 a year under a seven-year contract he signed in 2005. The deal also includes incentives that can push Tanner's income to $490,000.
The coach was given a $240,000 tax-deferred annuity last year, and would receive the lump sum if he remained at South Carolina through the end of his agreement in 2012.
Tanner and the Gamecocks will open their long-awaited new stadium in 2009. The school is finishing work on the $35.6 million facility.
