COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina will debut in its new baseball stadium next February against Duquesne.
The Gamecocks said Monday the season will begin Feb. 20 with a three-game series against the Dukes. It will be the first game played in the new $35.6 million facility. The stadium has not been named.
South Carolina will play 34 home games, including 11 of the season's first 12. The only time the Gamecocks leave home will be to take on rival Clemson on Feb. 28. South Carolina also will face the Tigers March 1 and April 22 in Columbia and April 8 at Clemson.
The Gamecocks start Southeastern Conference play March 13 at Mississippi State. South Carolina's regular season ends May 16 against Georgia.
