CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- First the Carolina Panthers overhauled their defensive line. Now they've changed the scheme in hopes of erasing last season's anemic pass rush.
After an off-season that saw Kris Jenkins traded to the New York Jets and Mike Rucker announce his retirement, the Panthers are working on a new system that emphasizes more blitzing and movement on the line.
New starter Damione Lewis says he likes the new scheme, which also focuses on trying to deceive the opposition with different formations.
