COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina forward Dominique Archie plans to be honored on senior night, but he hasn't given up on another season with the Gamecocks.

Archie told a news conference on Monday that he plans to ask for a redshirt for this season because of a knee injury he suffered in the fifth game. It will likely be weeks before the NCAA makes its decision on whether to give Archie a sixth season of eligibility.

Archie says he is ready no matter what the NCAA decides.

South Carolina coach Darrin Horn says athletics officials are reviewing more than 600 other medical redshirt cases in preparing Archie's paperwork.

The Gamecocks have gone 10-13 since Archie was hurt. Fellow starter Mike Holmes was dismissed from the team after six games.
