COLUMBIA (WACH)- The Benedict Tigers are heading back to the NCAA Tournament for the seventh time in eight seasons.  The back-to-back SIAC champions drew a six seed in the tournament and will face third-seeded Eckerd College on Saturday, March 16.

The Tigers (23-6) are hoping for a better outing in the tournament this time around after falling in the first round in 2012.  With experience, head coach Fred Watson believes his team is well suited this season.

"I know what to expect and how to prepare my team," Watson said.  "With this veteran group being there last year, they know what to do and how hard they'll have to play to get a win."

Ty Beaty is one of five seniors for the Tigers and wants to get the bad taste from 2012 out of his mouth.

"Last year we were one and done, but with this being my last year, I want to make this one count," Beaty said.

Tip for Saturday is set for 12:00 p.m.
