(WACH) -- College football fans vote University of South Carolina defensive end, Jadeveon Clowney, the best college football player in the nation.

The announcment was made during Monday's National championship game between Notre Dame and Alabama.

The AT&T National Player of the Year title is voted on by fans.

Some sports analysts are already predicting a Clowney versus Johnny Manziel showdown for next year's heisman.

Clowney was ranked third in the nation for sacks at the end of the season.
