KERSHAW COUNTY (WACH) -- South Carolina Highway Patrol Troopers are searching for clues into a hit and run accident that left a man dead.

According to Kershaw County Coroner Johnny Fellers 50 year old Derk Lawrence Maricle died due to the injuries he received after being hit by the vehicle. 

Authorities say the incident happened around 2:00 am Friday morning along Blaney Road in Kershaw County.

Troopers do not have a description of the car that hit Mr. Maricle.
