COLUMBIA (WACH) -- A local family is getting the opportunity to see one of their own at the Super Bowl holding the stars and stripes.

Sergeant First Class Ervin L. Davis is participating in the big game as a member of the multi-service color guard.

He will be in charge of coordinating 9 others presenting the flag during the National Anthem.

Davis' aunt, Adrianne Boulware and the rest of his family, can't wait to see him Sunday.

"This is like his life long dream to be in the military, he's like a poster child for the army. he's actually an army recruiter. It's something he has always wanted to do so we have always been supportive of that. To see him actually get such an honor its really great," said Boulware.

Davis is a Columbia native and graduated from Columbia High School and was hand picked for his Super Bowl Sunday opportunity.
