GASTON, SC (WACH) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a hit and run involving a moped and an unknown vehicle in Gaston Wednesday night.

Authorities say the crash occurred Wednesday around 8:30 p.m. on US 321 northbound near Ballpark Road.

An unknown vehicle hit the moped from behind in the outside lane. The driver of the moped was wearing a helmet, but received serious injuries, according to highway patrol officials.
