The Atlantic Coast Conference's football coaches have selected Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd as its player of the year after a record-setting season.
GREENSBORO, N.C. (WACH/AP) -- The Atlantic Coast Conference's football coaches have selected Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd as its player of the year and Duke's David Cutcliffe as its coach of the year.
The coaches announced their all-ACC team and award winners Wednesday, and it's almost identical to the team selected last week by media members who cover the league.
All of the major award winners were the same, including Miami's Duke Johnson as the rookie of the year and Florida State defensive end Bjoern Werner as the defensive player of the year.
Boyd led the Tigers to a 10-2 record and No. 14 ranking in the BCS standings while setting an ACC season record for total touchdowns, 41, in a season. He also set a record for most total touchdowns, 8, in a single game.
Boyd, running back Andre Ellington, receiver DeAndre Hopkins, center Dalton Freeman and tight end Brandon Ford were all named all-ACC first team players by the league's coaches.
