COLUMBIA (WACH) -- The USC/Clemson football rivalry is heating up yet again.

The annual "Tiger Burn" pep rally was held Monday evening in Columbia.

Engineering students built an almost 30-foot tall Clemson Tiger, only to burn it down.

Organizers say the pep rally is the highlight of the week before the big football matchup.

The tradition dates back to more than 100 years ago.

Clemson also hosted a similar event Monday with their annual mock funeral of "Cocky."
