Clemson cruises in exhibition play without key player

CLEMSON, SC (WACH) - Even though it was just an exhibitiion game, the first trip to the hardwood was a success for Clemson's mens' basketball team Monday.

The Tigers, picked to finish 8th in the ACC this season, topped Lander 72-42 at Littlejohn Coliseum.

Clemson was without senior center Devin Booker who was suspended for a violation of team rules. Booker is expected to be back for next week's season opener.

Booker's fellow senior Milton Jennings and Landry Nnoko paced the scoring with 14 points each to lead the team. The two post players were among four in double figures for Brad Brownell's team.

Jennings scored his 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting and added a team-high eight rebounds for the Tigers.

Clemson opens the season next Monday against Presbyterian at Littlejohn Coliseum.
