ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) -- Kimari McFadden picked off a pair of passes - returning one 34 yards for a touchdown - as South Carolina State topped Norfolk State 14-0 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action Saturday.

McFadden's score was the Bulldogs' second touchdown of the first quarter, and proved all the scoring the team needed. Julius Pendergrass supplied the other touchdown, punching in from 3 yards out just over a minute into the game.

South Carolina State (2-3, 1-1 MEAC) held the Spartans (2-3, 0-2) to 92 yards through the air, as quarterbacks Nico Flores and Jake Basmagian combined to go 11-of-23 passing with three interceptions and two sacks. The Bulldogs also recovered a forced fumble, blocked a punt and recorded eight tackles for loss - including a pair by McFadden, who added a second interception in the fourth quarter.

Takeem Hedgeman was the Spartans' lone bright spot, rushing for 148 yards on 26 carries.
