South Carolina begins the 2012 football season with Vanderbilt in Nashville, Aug 30. at 7:00 P.M. at 7:00 P.M. on ESPN  / Kara Durette

COLUMBIA, SC (WACH)- Gamecock fans now know when they'll geet to see their 2012 squad in action for the first time in the upcoming season.

The University annouced South Carolina will start the season at Vanderbilt Thursday August 30, at 7 p.m. on ESPN.

The first home game is Saturday, September 8, against East Carolina at 12:21 p.m. That game will be televised on the SEC network.

The first night game in Columbia this season is a week later on September 15 versus Alabama-Birmingham. That game will be televised by Fox Sports Net at 7 p.m.

Fall practice begins Friday August 3.
