High school roundup: Flora, Gilbert win in baseball, B-C falls in girls soccer

COLUMBIA- A.C. Flora and Gilbert are one step closer to state baseball championships.

The Falcons defeated Fort Mill 3-0 Monday night in the first game of the best-of-3 Class 3A championship series.  Game two is Wednesday night at Fort Mill.  Player Loving tossed a complete game shutout for the Falcons.

The Indians knocked off Hanahan 8-3 to take a 1-0 lead in the Class 2A title series.  Game two is Wednesday night in Gilbert.

In the Class 3A girls soccer lower state championship, Amy Thomas gave Brookland-Cayce an early 1-0 lead but Hilton Head High dominated the rest of the way in a 5-2 win, putting the Lady Seahawks in Saturday's state championship game.
