Clemson takes series with 3-1 win over Miami

Clemson (WACH)- Richie Shaffer hit a two-run double to break a 1-1 tie in the seventh inning and Dominic Leone pitched seven strong innings as Clemson topped #7 Miami 3-1 at Doug Kingsmore Stadium Saturday afternoon.  The Tigers moved to 14-12 overall, and 5-6 in the ACC.

Leone (4-2) gave up just six hits and allowed only one run while striking out six to pick up the victory.

Clemson took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a two-out RBI double by Tyler Slaton that scored Spencer Kieboom.  The Hurricanes responded in the fourth to tie the game at 1 before Clemson took the lead for good in the seventh.

The Tigers go for the sweep over Miami Sunday at Doug Kingsmore.  First pitch scheduled for 12:00 pm.
