Columbia (WACH)- Erik Payne hit his first career homer and drove in 2 RBI as USC completed the sweep over Princeton with a 3-1 win Sunday at Carolina Stadium.  The Gamecocks improve to 13-1 on the season.

Colby Holmes pitched five scoreless innings giving up just four hits and striking out six.  Evan Beal worked a perfect ninth to record his second save of the year.

Payne delivered a solo shot to left in the bottom of the third to put USC up 1-0.  The second baseman added insurance in the seventh when he doubled down the left field line to make it 3-1.

The Gamecocks are back at Carolina Stadium on Tuesday when they host Charleston Southern.  First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
