Columbia, SC - For the second time in a week, the Gamecock basketball team has lost a starter to injury.
Junior forward Mike Holmes will be out indefinitely with an eye injury. Coach Darrin Horn say Holmes has a "closed-head injury with a facial fracture," and he was scheduled to have surgery Monday.
There is no timetable for Holmes' return, but coach Darrin Horn said, "it's not going be anytime soon." Holmes is USC's third-leading scorer and second-leading rebounder.
Last week, senior forward Dominique Archie suffered a severe knee sprain, putting him out of the lineup indefinitely. Archie was leading the team in scoring when he went down.
