CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- The Charleston RiverDogs say they will remain an affiliate of the New York Yankees for four more years.
The teams first became affiliated in 2005, and RiverDogs president Mike Veeck says he is glad his Class A Southern League team can stay with a first-class organization like the Yankees.
The RiverDogs have set attendance records the past two seasons, and team officials say this year's attendance should be among the five highest in the more than 100 years Charleston has had a baseball team.
Charleston's team is owned by The Goldklang Group. Principal owner Marv Goldklang is also a part owner of the Yankees.
