Monday, August 29, 2011  South Carolina said Monday that ex-Tigers head coach Ron Garner will join the track and field staff. Garner was Clemson's head track coach from 1998-99, winning an Atlantic Coast Conference title and earning the league's coach of the year.

Friday, July 15, 2011  Tanner led the Gamecocks to their second straight College World Series championship. It's the third year Tanner has earned national coach of the year honors. He received the award from Baseball America in 2000 and from Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball in 2010.
