COLUMBIA (WACH) - The City of Columbia settled a lawsuit on Friday over a controversial Five Points arrest for $300,000.
City officials say a settlement was reached with Myrtle Beach attorney Jonathan David McCoy after he was arrested in October 2009 when he asked officers why they were arrested his friend.
Last week, a federal judge ruled that a city ordinance that makes it illegal to interfere with an officer carrying out an arrest is unconstitutionally vague.
City leaders say they plan on reviewing the future of that ordinance.
