Columbia, SC (WACH)-- One man's trash is really another man's treasure.
The South Carolina State Museum hosted an antiques road show Saturday; offering informal appraisals of a variety of objects brought in by people.
Museum Curators and experts discussed the value of items and tips on how to care for the collectables. Public Programs Manager Celeste Wszola said it is inspired by the PBS Antiques road show; and that it is the museum's most popular event.
"If it is something that has been in your family a long time, you may want to know more about it and you may want to preserve that history," Wszola said. "It could be worth a great deal of money. Sometimes it is just sentimental value. It is always good to know the history of the things that you own."
The road show is held twice a year. The next one is scheduled for July.
