COLUMBIA (WACH) - USC students from the School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management held a Fall Fair for Sistercare Wednesday evening in Columbia.
Sistercare is a lifeline for women in abusive relationships. South Carolina ranks second in the country for domestic violence committed against women and students felt they had to do something to help.
The students say the community's support has been amazing. “They've just been really helpful in trying to connect us with even more people to expand our network and get the word out and get the support that we're looking for,” said student Heather Cooper
The students have raised $22,000 so far for Sistercare. The goal is $75,000.
