COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina's strange 2012 election limps to a close Tuesday, with just one statewide issue and one U.S. House race where one opponent hasn't raised at least 10 times more money than the other.

Also, just one in four legislative candidates are facing any opposition.

But there is evidence voters are still interested. State election officials say as of the end of the day Friday, about 330,000 of the 390,000 absentee ballots requested in South Carolina have been cast. The state Election Commission says the record is 342,000 absentee votes cast in 2008.

In-person absentee voting continues through Monday. Polls will be open Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
