COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP/WACH) -- A release from Gamecocks Online reports that Gamecock running back Marcus Lattimore's injury to his right knee revealed no fractures or additional injuries, according to team physician Dr. Jeffrey Guy.  The ensuing hyperextension of the knee resulted in injury to several ligaments.

South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier said Sunday on his teleconference Lattimore had his right knee dislocated against Tennessee and the injury is something he can come back from to play football again.

Spurrier visited Lattimore on Sunday and said the junior had a good attitude about his condition. Spurrier hasn't yet talked with Lattimore about his future.

Lattimore turns 21 years old on Monday and USC is holding a Happy Birthday and Get Well Soon celebration for him in the Horseshoe at 5:00 P.M.  Gamecock head coach Steve Spurrier and USC president Harris Pastides among those in attendance. The public is invited to event.
