COLUMBIA (WACH) - A domestic shooting sent a woman to the hospital Monday morning.

Around 10:30 Monday morning, a shots fired call came into the Richland County Sheriff's Department. 

According to Deputy Curtis Wilson, a man fired shots at a home off of Thornfield Road in northeast Richland County hitting one victim.  The victim was transported to the hospital after taking shots to the upper body. 

Wilson says a second victim that was not injured in the shooting was able to flee the scene of the incident and call for help.

The suspect fled the scene, but was taken into custody near the scene of the incident.

Authorities say the Sheriff's Department was contacted yesterday after the wife of the suspect received a series of threatening text messages.

The incident under is investigation by the Richland County Sheriff's Department.
