COLUMBIA, (WACH) -- Food at the South Carolina State Fair is something that South Carolinians look forward to each year.

A variety of traditional favorites like caramel apples, french fries and elephant ears to more creative goodies like deep fried cookie dough and milky way bars.

I went around and visited a variety of booths to see what the SC fair food was all about.

One delicacy that caught my attention was what they call a "Luther Burger" named after the late Luther Vandross. 

It consists of a regular burger sandwiched by Krispy Kreme glazed donuts.

The makers said that it was one of Luther's favorite snacks.

If you visit the fair go with an empty stomach and an open mind.
