Boil water advisory for Caughman Road

UPDATE: Boil water advisory repealed. Customers in this area no longer need to boil their water prior to drinking or cooking.

The City advises water customers in the one-mile stretch to “vigorously” boil their water for at least a minute before drinking it or cooking.

COLUMBIA (WACH) – The City of Columbia has issued a boil water advisory for the residents of Caughman Road from Hazelwood Road to Benson Road.

Columbia Water Works says a water line break yesterday could result in bacterial contamination of water in the Caughman Road area.

The City advises water customers in the one-mile stretch to “vigorously” boil their water for at least a minute before drinking it or cooking.

The affected area includes:

  • - Pressley Street
  • - Hazelwood Road
  • - Trailwood Lane
  • - Charles Towne Drive
  • - Ashley's Place
  • - Caughman Ridge Road
  • - Sunview Circle
  • - Benson Road

 

The city also advises any residents near the affected area to boil their water.
