LEXINGTON, SC (WACH) - A man accused of stealing three vehicles from a Lexington business has been arrested.
Lexington County Sheriff James Metts says Saul Edward Saylors, 31, or West Columbia was arrested on a charge of grand larceny involving property worth between $2,000 and $10,000 on Wednesday.
According to Metts, Saylors is accused of taking a 1986 Ford F-250 pickup truck, 1982 Mercedes 300 sedan and a 1977 American Gremlin sedan from outside a business on Corley Mill Road around 10 a.m. on August 23. A tow truck was hired to tow the vehicles to CMC Recycling on Two Notch Road where the vehicles were sold for scrap metal and crushed for a total of $934 also on August 23.
The thefts of the vehicles were reported to the sheriff's department the next day.
Metts says investigators later developed probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant for Saylors connection with the thefts.
Saylors was released from the Lexington County Detention center Thursday, August 30 after posting a $5,000 bond.
