COLUMBIA (WACH)--A Columbia firefighter was sent to the hospital after battling a blaze Tuesday morning.

According to Columbia Fire Department spokesman, Brick Lewis, crews responded to a house fire at approximately 5:30 a.m at 6 Foot Point Road.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital.  A person inside the home was also taken to the hospital.

The blaze is now under control.
